Empower Credit Union offers money market accounts for short-term savings where you don't want to lock the funds for a long period of time, but still want to earn more money than a savings.
The Money Market account requires a minimum of $5,000 and has further tiers at $10,000, 25,000, $50,000, $75,000, and $100,000.
Transaction limitations:
- There is no minimum dollar transaction amount.
- There can be no more than six (6) transfers (withdrawals) per statement cycle. This includes transfers to another account at the institution or to a third party by means of a preauthorized or automatic transfer, a telephonic agreement, automated teller machine, or order of instruction.
- No more than three of the six transfers may be by check, draft, or similar order payable to third parties.
- There is no limit on the number of deposits.
